A man has recounted an unexpected experience after he and his friends met a group of ladies while enjoying Chinese food at a lounge in Lekki, Lagos.
According to the man, they invited the ladies to join them at their table, where everyone appeared to enjoy the interaction, with each of his friends seemingly receiving equal attention from the women.
He explained that one of his friends, who had recently made some money, was sponsoring the outing. However, because of restrictions on his account, the friend reportedly sold some coins and transferred the money to the only person in their group who had an ATM card before briefly stepping out.
After the meal, the bill arrived, and the friends jokingly hailed the ATM cardholder as their “chairman” as he proceeded to settle the payment.
The group eventually left the lounge after exchanging Instagram and Snapchat handles with the ladies.
However, the man said they were surprised when the women allegedly failed to respond to messages sent by him and his other friends.
According to his account, the only friend who received replies from the ladies was the same person whose ATM card had been used to pay the bill.
The experience reportedly left the group wondering whether the women’s interest had been influenced by who ultimately settled the bill.
