Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, poses a question to Peter Obi and Kwankwaso following their defection from ADC to NDC to avoid facing Atiku in the primary

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has stirred political conversations online after questioning the recent political moves involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

In a post shared on X, Ahmad asked whether the two politicians would leave the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar eventually decided to join the party.

His comments followed reports claiming that Obi and Kwankwaso defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after allegedly realising they had slim chances of emerging as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to the reports, Atiku’s expected interest in contesting for the presidency under the ADC platform may have influenced the political realignments.

‘’So what if Atiku Abubakar decides to join the NDC? Peter Obi and Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso will simply pack their bags and look for another party because they cannot stand against him in a primary contest?”” he wrote

The development has since sparked debate online, with supporters and critics discussing possible coalition strategies ahead of the next general election.
