EPL: Gvardiol seals dramatic City comeback against Bournemouth

Josko Gvardiol scored a thrilling stoppage-time goal to give Enzo Maresca victory in his first Premier League game as manager as Manchester City overcame Bournemouth 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

At the Etihad, Bournemouth made history by taking the lead for the first time, putting City in danger of losing on the first day.

After the assistant referee waved the offside flag, the goal was first disallowed. However, VAR stepped in and verified that Gvardiol had stayed just onside.

After City had been pushed to the limit by an outstanding Bournemouth team, the decision guarantyd Maresca would start his Premier League reign with all three points, sparking euphoria at the Etihad.
