Court finds former PenCom boss, Abdulrasheed Maina guilty of money laundering

Abdulrasheed Maina, the former chairman of the now-defunct Pension Reformed Task Team, was found guilty of money laundering.

The judgment is currently being read in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court.

Mr Maina is guilty of money laundering in the amount of N171,099,000, according to Abang. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) produced essential evidence through witnesses called.

It was also highlighted that, despite having the ability to call as many witnesses as he wanted, Maina only summoned one.
