Nigerian comedian and content creator Cute Abiola has triggered reactions online after publicly appealing to members of cult groups to channel their influence toward addressing insecurity in the country.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, he urged Nigerians to acknowledge what he described as the power and influence of cult groups, saying it could be used in a positive way to combat rising insecurity.

He noted that many areas where cult activities are said to exist are also affected by baπditry and other security challenges, calling for a reconsideration of how such influence could be redirected.

He further suggested that cult groups could use their influence to help protect affected communities across the country.

“It is time for all Nigerians to know your power. It is time for all Nigerians to know that cultism is a good thing. It is time for all Nigerians to know that the cultism you are doing has a lot of advantages than the disadvantages.”

“Please, all Nigerian cultists, come out for us. Let Nigerians be proud of you this time around. You can do this for us, please show your power.”
