A Nigerian guy has responded to criticism for content creator Peller’s decision to marry at such a young age.
The man, who goes by the name Edo Baba on Facebook, expressed his opinion while protecting the content producer from age-related criticism.
In his post, Edo Baba maintained that marrying at the age of 21 is not rare.
According to him, people often postpone marriage for a variety of reasons, including poverty.
He went on to offer people from previous generations as an example, claiming that people in the 1940s and 1950s were frequently married in their late teens and early twenties.
He also cited his father and veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie to back up his position.
“My dad had his first child at 25. Pete Edochie had his first child at 23,” he wrote.
The Facebook user begged people to stop condemning the couple and instead provide support as they embark on a new chapter.
He contended that unfavourable comments about the partnership just add additional pressure.
Read his words below:
“At 21, Peller isn’t too young to marry. The two reasons why people marry late are poverty and obirins narcissism.
In the 40s and 50s, people marry in their late teens and early 20s.
My dad had his first child at 25. Pete Edochie had his first child at 23.
People should cut the young couple some slacks.
Negative talks about their marriage are bad energy.”
