Anambra Couple Arrested for Dumping L!feless B0dies of Twin Infaπts in Drainage

The police in Anambra State have arrested a couple for allegedly dumping the l!feless b0dies of their twin infaπts in a drainage channel in the Okpoko area of the state on June 21.

Police operatives attached to the Okpoko Divisional Police Headquarters reportedly received information early in the morning about the discovery of two l!feless infaπt twins abaπdoned in a drainage along Cooperative Street, Nwokedi, Okpoko. Following the report, the operatives moved to the scene, secured the area, gathered evidence, and commenced investigations.

Preliminary investigation led to the identification and arrest of the biological parents of the infants, who are currently in police custody and assisting investigators in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, condemned the act in strong terms, stating that every child deserves protection, care, and the opportunity to live. He also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring that anyone found culpable in the case faces the full weight of the law.
