“Amupitan must resign” — Isaac Fayose alleges over 50 million AI-generated voters for rigging election

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has claimed that artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to manipulate the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, alleging that millions of non-existent voters could be created to influence the outcome.

Fayose raised the alarm in a video that has gone viral, where he expressed doubts about the credibility of the upcoming elections and the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In the clip, he alleged that more than 50 million fictitious voters generated through AI could be smuggled into the electoral system, wondering how such a massive figure would be justified against real voter turnout.

“As it is, they have over 50 million AI, AI-generated voters. They’re going to compete with you in 2027. For 50 million AI, you go vote, vote tire,” he said.

Fayose also cast doubt on the credibility of election results, referencing past elections in Ekiti State.

He noted that voter turnout in the state had consistently remained below 400,000, contrary to what he described as inflated figures that were eventually announced.

“Ekiti people, when they vote for Ekiti, they no reach 400,000. They don puff them up to 1 million. Those are the AIs,” he said.

He further claimed that extra voter cards could be handed out during the elections to enable multiple voting.

“So you can be Musa, you can be Belo, you can be Hamoria, you can be Jumoke at the same time,” Fayose said.

There was no independent verification of the claims, as Fayose did not present any proof in the video that 50 million AI-generated voters had been created or would be deployed for the 2027 elections.

He also called for INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, to step down, maintaining that a different person should be in charge of the electoral process.

According to him, changing the commission’s leadership before the next general election is necessary to guarantee a credible exercise.

“Say no to Amupitan. Amupitan must resign before election. Let us have a neutral person to conduct this election,” he said.

Fayose further urged Nigerians to treat the allegations with seriousness, warning that failure to demand accountability could jeopardize the country’s political future.

He questioned why citizens would keep preparing for the elections despite concerns over the integrity of the process.

He maintained that Nigerians must act now, rather than waiting until after the elections to contest alleged irregularities.

“Don’t be too comfortable with your future and your children’s future. It is time to wake up and ask for your right,” he said.

He wrapped up by restating his call for Amupitan to step down ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Amupitan must go,” Fayose concluded.
