American streamer Kai Cenat touches down in Nigeria for second time

Kai Cenat, a well-known Twitch streamer and content creator, has arrived in Lagos for his second trip to Nigeria, bringing attention to his long-promised school project for impoverished kids.

On Wednesday, Cenat was greeted with live music and a joyous reception at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, which immediately generated excitement on social media.

Cenat’s $5 million vow to construct a school for kids in the Makoko coastal village is still ongoing, almost a year after his first visit.

The school site was moved to Yaba, an area with more stable infrastructure, after early delays were ascribed to land acquisition and regulatory obstacles in the floating community.

Cenat affirmed that after the school opens, Makoko children will continue to receive free education.

Cenat disclosed during Mafiathon 3 that the project has now raised over $1 million.

In order to guarantee the project’s long-term viability, he also presented plans for phased investment, highlighting the goal of building a long-lasting educational institution rather than rushing the construction.

Nigerian followers are excited about the streamer’s comeback, and many believe it will hasten real development.

Nonetheless, some social media users are still demanding more visible activity on the ground and more precise deadlines.

Cenat’s visit comes as other international broadcasters are showing an increasing amount of interest in Nigeria.

A few weeks ago, IShowSpeed, a fellow American streamer, went on tour in Lagos, attracting sizable crowds and creating viral moments while interacting with local creators and followers.

Nigeria’s growing importance on international digital culture is highlighted by the consecutive trips.

Now that Cenat is back in Lagos, everyone is still wondering if this second journey will result in tangible steps to complete his grandiose school project.
