Nigerian rapper Erigga has fired back at Afrobeats star Davido following a social media exchange over comments about musicians who rose to fame without financial support from wealthy families.

The drama began after Erigga gave a shoutout to musicians who “got it out the mud” without relying on family money to build their careers.

Davido responded to the post, telling Erigga to also recognise musicians who came from wealthy families but still worked hard to reach the top.

The singer subsequently described Erigga’s motivation as “useless,” prompting a fresh response from the rapper.

Reacting to Davido’s comment, Erigga suggested that the singer had been unnecessarily triggered by his original post.

“Na shoutout to the ones when get it out the mud without family money dey make David crash out? From where to where??” he wrote.

In another post, Erigga took another swipe at Davido, writing:

“Big man pikin dey cry say poor men children de hail dem self??? Motivate your self naw. Ambassador of RICH KIDS.”

The exchange has since generated reactions online, with fans and social media users weighing in on the back-and-forth between the two Nigerian music stars.

While Erigga’s original post appeared to celebrate artists who built their careers without family wealth, Davido’s response highlighted the effort required even by those who grew up with financial advantages.
