AFCON 2025: “You made every Nigerian proud” – BUA founder to fulfill $500,000 promise to Super Eagles despite losing to Morocco

Despite the Nigeria Super Eagles’ semi-final defeat to Morocco, BUA founder Abdul Samad Rabiu has reiterated his dedication to the team, pledging to keep his $500,000 pledge.

This commitment comes after he first declared that the bonus would be given if Nigeria won their next game following their quarterfinal triumph over Algeria.

He commended the players for their bravery, tenacity, and unity on the field in his most recent Instagram post.

“You fought with your hearts, gave your all, and showed true courage and determination on the pitch. Though it wasn’t meant to be this time, you have made every Nigerian proud,” he said.

He emphasised that the team’s energy, passion, and cooperation are what really matter, even though he noted that occasionally the best efforts don’t provide the desired outcome.

The BUA Founder affirmed that he will fulfil his pledge of $500,000 USD as a symbol of gratitude for the players’ incredible journey and effort, acknowledging their diligence, commitment, and the happiness they have provided to Nigerians across the country.

“Keep your heads high, Super Eagles – the experience, lessons, and spirit will fuel even greater success next time. Nigeria will always be proud of you, and we believe in your future victories,” he added.

Despite losing in the semifinals, the Super Eagles’ performance has left a lasting impression on supporters and continues to inspire pride in the country.
