Samiya, a graduate of the and native of Obi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, while en route from Lafia to the NYSC orientation camp in Maiduguri, Borno State.

His brother, Lawrence David, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers have contacted the family and are demanding a ransom of ₦10 million for his release.

The victim was on his way to begin service under the programme when the incident occurred. Authorities have not yet released an official statement as investigations are expected to continue.
