“A lucky soul” – Sheikh Gumi reacts to the demise of Iran’s supreme leader

In response to news of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s passing, Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi called him a lucky man who lost his life in what he called jihad.

“Khamenei died while standing against those he described as killers of innocent women and children in Gaza and other places,” Gumi said in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.

He went on to say that the passing of the late Iranian leader would spur change among Muslims, claiming that Khamenei did not back down from a fight and remained firm in his beliefs.

“Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: A lucky soul, he died in Jihad against killers of innocent children and women in Gaza and elsewhere.

His blood will fuel the change in the ummah. He stood firmly for Justice and didn’t hide in bunkers. For those who killed him or assisted in killing him, let us see what they will live to do in this world.”

After an Israeli strike in Tehran on Saturday, Khamenei, who was Iran’s Supreme Leader for decades and a key player in the political and religious leadership of the nation, was said to have passed away.
