2027 Election: “I will work against Peter Obi” – Cubana Chief Priest declares

In the 2027 presidential election, celebrity bartender and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, better known by his stage name Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly said that he will not back Peter Obi.

In an Instagram conversation with his fans, the nightlife entrepreneur revealed his intention to oppose the former governor of Anambra State’s expected ambition.

Ahead of the upcoming general election, an Instagram user questioned him directly about his political views, asking if he was actively opposing Obi despite having previously collaborated with him.

This sparked the issue. In response to the remark, read what Cubana Chief Priest wrote below:

“Yes oh, hope say no be crime cuz I worked for Obi last election even as special adviser to an APC governor.”

Online opinions to his statement were swiftly divided. Some people questioned his integrity by citing his prior run-in with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), while others accused him of political inconsistencies.

He dismissed criticism directed at the EFCC, saying:“If you never go to the EFCC for Naija, you never make it.”

The contentious discussion also turned to Biafra and the South-East region’s political backing.

Cubana Chief Priest advised detractors to consider their own contributions to regional development while encouraging people to support any candidate of their choosing.

“Go and support who you want to support. As you like Biafra, how many developments have you done for the South East?”

His remarks have brought a new dimension to the expanding talks around Nigeria’s next presidential contest as political discussions continue to gain traction.
