11-Year-Old Becomes UK’s Youngest Mother After Getting Pregnant At 10

An 11-year-old girl became Britain youngest mother after becoming pregnant at the age of 10 without her family’s knowledge.

The unknown woman and her baby, who was born after more than 30 weeks of pregnancy, are both healthy and well-cared for, according to TheSun.

However, according to the publication, social services are now looking into the circumstances that led to her pregnancy, as her family was unaware that she was pregnant.

According to a source, “It came as a huge surprise. She’s now surrounded by professionals. The most important thing is that she and the baby are doing well. There are questions as to why people were unaware. That is quite concerning.”

“This is the youngest mother I’ve heard of,” a doctor named Carol Cooper told The Sun, saying that a female starts puberty at the age of 11, but it can happen at any age between 8 and 14.

Cooper went on to say that weight has an impact on a variety of hormones, and that because children are now larger than they used to be, puberty is occurring sooner.

When younger children get pregnant, however, there is a larger chance of complications such as early labor, infections, and pre-eclampsia.

Doctor Cooper went on to say that “approximately one in every 2,500 births” occurs when a woman is either unaware of her pregnancy or hides it from her family and friends.

Tressa Middleton, who was only 12 when she had a kid in 2006, was Britain’s youngest mother before the 11-year-old.

Middleton, who is now in her mid-twenties, became pregnant after her brother raped her. Her child was placed in foster care, and her brother was sentenced to prison.
