Following the publication of a plan by Beijing to end the conflict in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared he wanted to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Yesterday, the foreign ministry of Beijing unveiled a 12-point plan calling for an end to unilateral sanctions that have not been authorized by the UN Security Council, where Russia could veto them.
According to Mr. Zelensky, he wants to speak with his Chinese colleague about their peace plan, which calls for a ceasefire and a slow de-escalation of the situation.
He stated: “Beijing has begun discussing Ukraine, which is good. I believe that our territorial sovereignty and security concerns are respected.”
He continued, but he did not specify when he anticipated speaking with the Chinese president in person. He declared, “I intend to meet with Xi Jinping and think this will be advantageous for our nations and for security in the world.
The United Nations General Assembly will vote on Mr. Zelensky’s own peace proposal, despite the fact that he has welcomed Beijing’s input.
He stated: “It appears to me that a significant number of states have already endorsed our ‘peace formula,’ and we anticipate that they will do so when the UN meets and votes on the appropriate resolution.”
Beijing abstained when the UN on Thursday passed a resolution urging Russia to end hostilities in Ukraine and withdraw its military, despite Beijing’s calls for “peace and dialogue.”
China is contemplating arming Russia, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned, despite Mr. Zelensky’s plans to meet with his Chinese colleague.
“Chinese businesses have so far helped Russia in Ukraine without using deadly force. Our current worry stems from knowledge that they are contemplating offering lethal support, “said he.
“I’ve seen nothing in the plan that would suggest that there is something that would be beneficial to anyone other than Russia,” said Joe Biden in response to a question about China’s peace initiative, as reported by ABC News.
