“You left your husband for ch3ating on you, now you are dating a married man” – Woman questions friend

A Nigerian woman has sparked an online conversation after recounting the story of a friend who reportedly left her husband over infidelity, only to later become involved with another married man.

According to the woman, her friend had accused her husband of repeatedly bringing other women into their matrimonial home and showing little regard for her or their children. She said her friend eventually left the marriage and took the children with her.

The woman explained that the situation became ironic when a married male friend visited them at a hotel. According to her account, her friend followed the man into a hotel room shortly after he arrived.

She later learned that the two were allegedly in a relationship and that the man had given her ₦300,000.

The narrator said the revelation left her questioning her friend’s decision, considering that she had reportedly left her own marriage because of her husband’s alleged infidelity.

“She now said the two of them are dating. Them dey date married man? That means she was also ch3ating on her husband with the married man.”

‘This is what you left your husband for’

The woman said she did not consider herself judgmental because her friend had left the marriage and was taking responsibility for herself and her children.

However, she questioned what she described as the contradiction between her friend’s reason for leaving her husband and her alleged involvement with another married man.

“Honestly, I’m not because she left with her kids and she’s the one taking responsibility. But this is what you left your husband for. You left your husband because he was ch3ating on you, now you’re doing the same thing and you feel it’s okay.”

The account has generated reactions online, with social media users debating the apparent contradiction, personal choices after separation and the ethics of becoming involved with someone who is already married.
