A woman has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter) after sharing a story about her mother’s unusual act of love for her father during a period of panic over allegedly contaminated “k!ller beans” in the market.
According to her narration, the incident happened at a time when rumours were circulating that some beans in the market were unsafe for consumption. Despite the fear, her father reportedly insisted that he needed to eat beans.
The woman explained that her mother decided to travel from Lagos to Ibadan in search of beans, believing the reported contaminated batch might not have reached there.
After purchasing and returning home, she cooked the meal and, in a bold move, ate the beans first. She then reportedly told her husband to check on her after two hours before locking herself in the kitchen.
The daughter said that after the waiting period, the father checked on her and found she was still alive and well, after which the family eventually ate the meal together.
She added that her father often recounted the incident to others as an example of his wife’s deep love and willingness to take risks for him.
