Social commentator Daniel Regha has questioned why Pastor Jerry Eze was reportedly unable to heal late actor Alex Ekubo despite their relationship and the cleric’s reputation for miraculous healings.
Regha referenced a 2023 photo or video in which Pastor Jerry Eze was seen praying for Alex Ekubo, noting that the actor later reportedly developed advanced metastatic kidney cancer before his death in 2026.
According to Regha, the development raises questions because Pastor Jerry was said to have been a friend and spiritual mentor to the actor.
“Pastor Jerry Eze has been said to have performed lots of miracles over the years, Alex Ekubo was his good friend and there’s even a picture/video of the same Pastor Jerry seriously praying for him in 2023. In 2024, just over a year, Alex reportedly started battling with advanced metastatic kidney and sadly lost his life in 2026. Now, why wasn’t Pastor Jerry able to heal him between those years since he performs miracles, they knew each other, and he was his spiritual mentor? And let’s not forget that Pastor Jerry’s slogan is “What God cannot do does not exist”. He was present at Alex’s service of songs, but didn’t heal him while alive? Make it make sense.”
Regha’s comments have since generated debate online, with some users challenging his argument and others questioning claims surrounding faith healing.
