“We stumbled on certain suspicious things in the course of our investigation” – Lagos Police give reason for ransacking Seun Kuti’s house

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, police searched Seun Kuti’s home after allegedly finding some suspicious items.

Assaulting a police officer on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge led to the Afrobeat musician’s detention and subsequent arraignment.

On Tuesday, police raided the musician’s home in Akin Osiyemi off Allen Avenue in Ikeja for a search and took his wife’s mobile with them.

Responding to a Twitter user, who condemned the invasion, the PPRO, on Tuesday, May 17, said; “In the course of our investigation, we stumbled on certain suspicious things that needed to be proven/disproved beyond reasonable doubt,”

“We, therefore, applied for and duly got a search warrant from the court, which we have executed. Investigation continues.” the PPRO added.
