Adedamola Joshua, brother of former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, provided an update on the boxer’s vehicle mishap.
Anthony Joshua was engaged in a car accident in Ogun state on December 29, 2025, and suffered minor injuries.
Unfortunately, two dear friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, passed away.
In an interview with BBC News, Adedamola Joshua revealed that the accident happened as he was travelling to his village.
Speaking about the accident, he characterised it as devastating news for the family and revealed that Anthony Joshua had arrived in Nigeria to celebrate the festive season with them.
Adedamola Joseph stated that the boxer’s family is ignorant of the hospital where he was transferred.
”He always come down whenever there is festivity to stay with us. We don’t know the actual hospital that he has been taken to. We’ve gone round all hospitals in Sagamu”, He stated.
According to Adedamola Joshua, the retired DIG (Deputy Inspector General) of Police contacted him via phone, notifying him of the unfortunate incident.
Sharing details about the phone conversation, he stated, “They said they wanted to know the person in the family they could contact, so I introduced my brother, Oye Joshua”.
