A gunman, who opened fire at Old Dominion University’s Constant Hall in Norfolk, Virginia, on Thursday has been identified as Mohamed Jalloh, a naturalized US citizen from an African country, Sierra Leone.
the attacker invaded the school premises on Thursday morning and opened fire, injuring at least two people.
Authorities said the gunman was immediately shot dead by security operatives in the area.
A report by Fox News indicated that the suspect was convicted of providing support to the ISIS terrorist group in 2017.
He was, however, released in December 2024.
The development has triggered criticism from the Republicans, who are saying that the suspect should never have been in the US country in the first place.
