Desmond, a University of Benin (UNIBEN) final-year student, was murdered by gunmen who are thought to be cult members.

Around nine o’clock on April 3rd, the victim, known as “Mayor,” was fatally shot in his room at the Hall 3 Hostel.

Until his passing, the dead was a Kegite head and employee of the Department of Public Administration.

Desmond was fatally shot in the face at point-blank range, according to a source who wished to remain unidentified.

“The killing of Desmond has caused panic in the school. Students are even afraid to stay in the hostel. He was shot in the face and had no chance to survive the attack.” the student said.

His remains have been placed at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital mortuary in the interim (UBTH).
