A Nigerian woman has generated heated discussions on social media after sharing a scandalous marriage story involving her UK-based brother, which has left many Nigerians startled.
In a viral TikTok video submitted by a user named @sommica, the lady said that her brother met his wife on Instagram while living abroad.
According to her, they talked for almost six months before he went to Nigeria, and when they finally met in person, things moved quickly; within a month, he proposed and married her.
She reportedly revealed that she had the child at a young age, and the man welcomed both her and the child without hesitation.
Following the wedding, the couple intended to return to the UK together.
However, because to problems in her travel documents, the woman remained in Owerri while her husband went ahead to finish arrangements.
While he was away, she told him she wanted to move to Abuja for a change of scenery. Despite still attending school in Owerri, the man accepted, continued to send her money, totally supported her child, and even opened a shop for her.
Trouble allegedly began when she summoned her secondary school ex-boyfriend to Abuja. The man, described as a well-known errand runner in Owerri, was allegedly flown in and out, lavished with presents, and financially supported.
The truth was revealed when the ex-boyfriend publicly boasted during a gathering that his ex-girlfriend was paying his lifestyle, displaying images and videos as evidence. When confronted over the phone, the woman apparently confirmed everything.
Her spouse apparently urged her to pack before he returned. Instead, she allegedly sold home items and fled with her ex-boyfriend.
Many social media users have responded strongly to the story, describing it as a harsh lesson about trust, haste, and reckless love.
