United Bank for Africa (UBA) has dismissed circulating reports alleging that its Chairman, Tony Elumelu, is involved in a divorce scandal, describing the claims as “false and malicious.”
In a statement addressing the rumours, the bank reportedly condemned the spread of unverified information online, insisting that the allegations surrounding Elumelu’s marriage are entirely unfounded.
UBA also urged the public to disregard the reports, warning against the dangers of misinformation and the impact of false narratives on individuals and institutions.
The rumours had sparked widespread discussion on social media before the bank moved to officially deny the claims.
