Media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has attracted attention after a video showed her intervening when ushers at Iyabo Ojo’s grandson Rakeem’s first birthday party attempted to stamp her daughter’s hand.
In the video circulating on social media, Toke was seen at the event with her daughter when one of the ushers reached for the child’s hand.
Toke immediately stepped in and questioned the decision to stamp her daughter’s hand, leading to a brief exchange with the ushers.
Her reaction has since generated different responses from social media users, with some supporting her decision to speak up while others shared their thoughts about the event’s entry procedures.
Toke Makinwa welcomed her first child, a daughter named Yakira Eliana, in 2025 at the age of 40.
Since becoming a mother, the media personality has occasionally shared glimpses of her motherhood journey with her followers.
On Mother’s Day, Toke shared photos of herself and her daughter while reflecting on how motherhood had changed her life. She described her daughter affectionately and expressed gratitude for the experience of becoming a mother.
She also celebrated her daughter on International Women’s Day, which coincided with the child’s seventh-month milestone. Toke stated that she was raising a queen and that it was her responsibility to hand her a crown.
She also clarified the meaning behind her daughter’s name after a fan made an assumption about the child’s father’s religion based on the name Yakira.
Toke explained that Yakira is a Hebrew name meaning “beloved,” “precious” and “someone of great worth.”
