Three killed as explosion rocks Kogi ahead of President Buhari’s visit

Following an explosion in Kogi State’s Okene Local Government Area, three people have died.

At Alhaji Ado Ibrahim’s palace in the Idoji neighbourhood of Okene, the Oyinoyi of Ebiraland, the incident took place on Thursday morning, December 29.

President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in the next few hours to inaugurate a few projects in the North-Central state.

Police officers from the Anti-Bomb Unit were there at the scene as of the time of reporting this report.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the ‘bomb,’ which was likely a local explosive, exploded in front of a crowd of spectators during the Echeane Festival, a yearly masquerade celebration.
