Simi stated that while she has nothing against individuals supporting the candidate of their choice, she is against those who defend the election’s fraud.
Simi, a popular singer, has voiced her displeasure with those who are defending the fraud in the February 25 presidential election. Simi is also known by her stage name Simisola Kosoko.
Simi, in a message uploaded on her Instastory, said she had lost respect for folks who declared support for “people that do horrible things in public without fear of repercussion”.
It is hardly a surprise that the presidential election was highly contentious due to reports of violence, vote-rigging, disenfranchisement, and result manipulation in many polling places across the nation.
On March 1, INEC declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu the victor of the election, designating him as the “President-elect of Nigeria” amidst the controversy.
Simi responded by stating that while she has nothing against individuals supporting the candidate of their choice, she is saddened in those who continue to defend the election’s fraud.
The mother of one wrote,
“A lot of people have surprised me this election. Lost whatever respect many have had for them.

“It’s my choice” is fair; but when people do wicked things in daylight without fear of repercussion, and you still support them, it serves you better to do it quietly.
You’re not courageous, or brave, or strong in the face of adversity. You’re ignorant. And proud.”
