A Nigerian woman has revealed a disturbing story about how her romance with a man 18 years older than her led to her dropping out of school.
In a famous TikTok video released by @ayam_smellluxury, she confessed that she was only 15 years old when the man initially approached her.
She regularly rebuffed him on her excursions from Abuja to Owerri.
But after being admitted to a university in Owerri, they reconnected and began dating. During her first year, she moved into his home.
The man had an ice cream and popcorn shop, and instead of concentrating on her academics, she began assisting him with sales.
They travelled on his bus with his sales helper. Whenever people labelled her his partner, he denied it and claimed she was his sister.
She was seventeen at the time, and he was thirty-five.
He frequently chastised her for little infractions and eventually began striking her.
When she attempted to leave, he insulted her, warning her she would become immoral. Fear and attachment frequently caused her to return.
When she indicated a wish to resume school, he declined, claiming that education had not benefitted him.
Prior to her birthday, he complained about a malfunctioning gearbox in his bus.
On her birthday, he merely got her a bottle of malt. Later that day, he accused her of eyeing another man’s automobile and slapped her.
She claimed that smack was when everything became evident.
“That was the day my eyes opened. The incident made her realise she needed to leave the relationship and regain control of her life,” she said.
