140 thugs with weapons and ammunition were reportedly apprehended by soldiers providing security for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Enugu State in the university town of Nsukka in the Nsukka Local Government Area.

Soldiers stationed in Enugu to provide security for Saturday’s elections for the State House of Assembly and the governorship have detained about 140 political thugs.
The fact that the thugs were found in possession of guns indicates that they intended to sabotage the elections.
They were allegedly taken into custody at the well-known Carolina hotel in Nsukka, Enugu North Senatorial District.
Three criminals were also detained at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Nsukka office.
