On Thursday, March 30, several Shi’ite Muslims invaded Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory in protest.

Shi’ite protesters demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari release the international passports of Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Malama Zeenah, so that they can travel for medical treatment. El-Zakzaky is the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria.

They waved signs and banners that demanded that Buhari lift the travel ban on Sheikh El-Zakzaky.

But, security personnel scattered them.

This comes after Sheikh Ibraheem El-request Zakzaky’s that the Department of State Services return his and his wife’s passports was denied by a Federal High Court.
