A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after recounting how he responded when a woman who previously rejected his romantic advances later approached him for ₦20,000.

The man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @GloriousGod01, said the woman had turned down his request for a relationship about two months earlier but suggested that they remain friends.

Woman Later Asked Him for Financial Assistance

According to the man, the woman later contacted him and asked for ₦20,000 because she was reportedly in need of money.

Rather than simply give her the money, he decided to offer her an opportunity to earn it by doing some household chores for him.

He recounted:

“About 2 months ago, I asked a lady out. She said no but offered friendship instead.”

“Yesterday she texted begging for 20,000 naira. I could see how desperate she was.”

“I told her to come and work for it. She did not hesitate.”

“The moment I brought out my clothes for her to wash, her face dropped. She agreed anyway but asked me to put on the generator so she could use the washing machine.”

“I told her that if she was going to use the washing machine, I would deduct 3,000 naira from the 20,000 naira for fuel.”

“She refused and washed them by hand.”

“My dry cleaner would have charged me 5,000 naira for the same job.”

“But I gave her the 20,000 naira she requested.”

“The moment the alert dropped, she said ‘Chaiii Glorious, you didn’t regard me even in the least.’”

“I just smiled and watched her leave.”

“At least she will think twice before billing me again.”
