As he begins serving a ten-year term for killing a former friend, Megan Thee Stallion, American rapper Tory Lanez is being detained in solitary confinement out of fear of attacks by other prisoners at LA’s infamous County Jail.

Wardens are reportedly checking on the hip-hop artist every 30 minutes at the administrative segregation facility, which also houses Danny Masterson, the rap artist from That 70s Show, and OJ Simpson.

Lanez, 31, whose actual name is Daystar Peterson, begged Judge David Herriford last week to “give me some sort of alternative that is not prison” as he received his sentence for the 2020 gun attack that occurred after a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house.

But the rapper now finds himself alone in a cell for 22 hours a day in the violent and overcrowded jail.’

At least 12 people have died in Los Angeles County jails since June 1 including Joseph Hutchinson was found stabbed to death in Men’s Central Jail on August 4.

Tory is also on suicide watch and is allowed to shower every other day, and only allowed into the jailhouse grounds for three hours a week.
