Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has urged security services to protect Adeniyi Adeyemi, arguing that Nigerians should know the whole truth about the accusations that are presently making headlines.
The activist voiced concerns about Adeyemi’s safety in a video that was uploaded to his X account on Friday. The debate surrounding allegations made against Femi Gbajabiamila, President Bola Tinubu’s chief of staff, is still ongoing.
The Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeyemi, reportedly claimed that he paid N400 million through a middleman and was then required to pay a another N200 million before his appointment could be completed.
Since then, the President has denied the accusations. Officials rejected the allegations against Gbajabiamila, insisting that he has no involvement in providing government appointment letters or creating appointments in the way alleged.
In response to the controversy, VeryDarkMan stated that Adeyemi’s safety was his first priority, emphasising that the whistleblower should stay secure while the authorities ascertain the truth.
“My first interest in this case is that I don’t want to hear that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi died mysteriously.”
He claimed that the case has become a matter of public interest and urged law enforcement agencies to ensure Adeyemi is safeguarded during any investigation.
“It is the duty of our security operatives to protect him because Nigerians are interested in getting to the root of these allegations.”
Nigerians should have clear answers on the allegations and the official statement from the Presidency, according to VeryDarkMan, who insisted that the topic should be looked into openly.
