According to Chowdeck CEO Femi Aluko, delivery riders at the company make an average of N100,000 a week, with top-performing riders apparently earning much more.
In an interview with Channels, Aluko revealed the information while outlining riders’ earning potential on the meal delivery service.
He claims that since riders are paid according to kilometres driven, the quantity of deliveries made and the distance travelled have a significant impact on their earnings.
The interviewer was somewhat aback by the number, pointing out that for bicycle riders, an average weekly wage of N100,000 would equate to almost N400,000 per month.
Aluko verified the computation but pointed out that there are additional costs associated with the work, such as the cost of bicycle maintenance.

Femi Aluko: “Chowdeck riders earn an average of N100,000 per week while staying fit. The best ones make much higher than that. It’s a game of numbers, the more delivery you do, the more you’re able to earn and cover distance and kilometres because they’re also paid by kilometres.”
Interviewer: “So you’re telling me those boys riding those bicycles make N100K in a week. So in a month, N400K, riding bicycle.”
Femi Aluko: “That’s correct, yeah. Again, it also comes with its own cost, like you have to maintain your bicycles.”
