According to Afrobeats musician Davido, the US government contacted him after he voiced worries about the impending Osun State governorship election.
Prior to Saturday’s election, the musician had earlier urged US President Donald Trump to step in due to what he called the potential for violence, intimidation, and disruption of the democratic process.
Later, Davido said on X that he had been approached by the US government, but he did not reveal the specifics of his response.
He wrote …
“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something.”
The musician didn’t elaborate on who got in touch with him or what kind of answer he received.
