Popular Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo is, without any iota of doubt, one of the reigning queens in the Yoruba movie industry today. However, despite the massive success she has achieved as an actress, she has also had her fair share of unhappy moments and has often made the headlines in this regard. For instance, it is no secret that her marriage to her estranged sweetheart, Tunde, which produced two lovely kids, Festus and Priscilla, broke down irretrievably some years ago. Now, the actress has broken down in tears to encourage all mothers who are going through series of challenges to hold on as it will surely get better for them and the children as she tells her story.
In celebration of Mothers’ day, the actress put up a video where she recounted a bit of her story, how she got to know her husband married her not because of love but because she was pregnant. She went on to reveal how her husband was ‘not available even while they were still together’. With her teary eyes, she said she tried to stay married with her pregnancy, gave birth at the RCCG, Itire, Mushin, without any financial help from her then husband. She fell pregnant again while trying to sort her life with the husband, trying to love him more just to make the marriage work but he didn’t change towards him.
And the second pregnancy was so hard on her that she had to beg a nurse to deliver her in her house as she didn’t have money for the hospital. She said she almost died as she lost a lot of blood. It was after this that she left her marriage with her children to focus on life all alone. According to her, today, the tears are all tears of joy as she is now very grateful for her life. And she is sharing her story for women to know no matter what they pass through while training their children, it will always get better.
She shared the video with the caption: “DON’T STOP IN YOUR STORM. Everyone has a story, everyone’s life is a story. I decided to share a bit with you, to strengthen and to encourage someone out there. We’re all capable of doing amazing things….but whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. ……………….. never stop in your storm. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
