“No push gift, no second child” – Lady sets strict rule for motherhood

A Nigerian woman has sparked outrage online after posting her strong views on motherhood and what she wants from her spouse.

According to her, receiving a push gift after childbirth is a non-negotiable necessity in her marriage.

Read what she said below:

“I have a rule when it comes to motherhood. A push gift is non-negotiable for me. If I’m having a child for my husband, he must get me a push gift.”

She went on to say that she wants her partner to begin financial planning as soon as she announces her pregnancy, allowing him plenty of time to meet her expectations.

The lady went on to say that the present may be something big, such as a car or a house, emphasising how serious she is about her illness.

“Immediately I tell you I am pregnant, go and start saving. You have nine months. It can be a car or a house. If you don’t get me a push gift, I’m not having a second child for you. You can go to court, I can never be forced,” she added.

The statement has elicited conflicting reactions online, with some supporting her position and calling it fair, while others say that childbearing should not be linked to material aspirations.
