Mr. Akinlabi Akinnaso, a prominent member of a major political party in Idanre Local Government in Ondo State, was assassinated by a security guard inside INEC’s collation facility.
Akinnaso, also known as Oluomo, died in the early hours of February 26 after allegedly being shot by Owena Ayetoro Idanre, a security guard stationed at the INEC Collation Center.
The winner of the House of Representatives election, Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest, the incumbent member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing the Idanre Local Government Area Constituency, was about to receive the Certificate of Return when the deceased, it was learned, got into a fight with the armed personnel.
Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased, who is in his forties, has been deposited in the mortuary of the General Hospital, Idanre after he had been certified dead by the Medical Doctor on duty.
