“Na God go punish you” — Man expresses regret after celebrating Adeleke’s Osun election victory

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has come under fire from a man after she reaffirmed her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he won the Osun governorship in 2026.

The individual, who seemed dissatisfied with Adeleke’s comments, asked why the governor had to bring up his pledge to Tinubu during his victory address.

He claimed that after celebrating Adeleke’s election victory and even using his boxers to do so, the situation made him feel deceived.

Reacting to the governor’s speech, the man said, “Governor Adeleke, na God go punish you. After you don make me use boxers dance dey celebrate say you win election.”

He further questioned Adeleke’s decision to reaffirm his support for Tinubu, saying, “Your speech, you con dey talk say you dey reaffirm your commitment to the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his return.”

The individual questioned whether the governor may eventually go from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, suggesting that Adeleke’s remarks might encourage rumours of a potential political realignment.

The individual also contested the claim that the Osun election was free and fair, citing tales of purportedly documented deaths during the voting process.

“Must you mention the president? With all that APC is doing, you say you want to reaffirm. Reaffirm what?” he asked.

He concluded by accusing politicians of prioritising personal interests, saying, “It shows all of you are just for personal interest.”

Discussions about Adeleke’s remarks have persisted, especially in regard to the Osun governor’s political relationship with President Tinubu after the governorship election.
