A man has recounted an incident that led to the end of a friendship after a visit to seek financial help took an unexpected turn.
According to his story, the event happened two years ago when he was experiencing financial hardship and asked a friend for a ₦50,000 loan.
The friend reportedly told him he was broke and unable to lend any money.
However, what happened later that day made him question that claim.
While they were conversing, the friend’s girlfriend and her younger sister allegedly arrived at the house.
The friend then proposed that they all go out to eat together.
At the restaurant, everyone ordered meals, while the girlfriend and her sister also requested takeaways. The man claimed the bill amounted to about ₦100,000, which his friend settled without hesitation.
The situation escalated after the outing when the girlfriend asked for money to fix her hair.
According to the account, the friend instantly transferred ₦45,000 to her following the request.
When they returned home, the man brought up the ₦50,000 loan request once again.
Responding to the reminder, the friend said:
“How can you be asking me for that kind of money after I’ve spent so much today? I already told you I don’t have it.”
