A guy has sparked outrage online after stating that recent changes in the United Kingdom make it hard for many international spouses to obtain divorces there.
In a popular video, he claimed that under a “new law,” couples seeking divorce in the UK must now travel to their home nations to end their marriages.
He further stated that the alleged strategy had prompted many couples, especially Nigerians living in the UK, to reconsider divorce and try reconciliation instead.
For example, the guy described how a friend informed him that his wife had dropped a divorce case in order to resolve their issues.
However, the individual did not provide any specific legislation or official sources to back up his assertions.
“All of a sudden, there’s no more divorce in uk, thanks to UK government. Now new law, if you want to divorce, you go your country go divorce. So all of a sudden, all Nigeria home now, everybody’s living in peace. Africa no more divorce everybody is living in peace.
One of my friends called me and he said, my wife don withdraw divorce from court. Say better make them settle, that she’s ready to settle. She say my husband please let’s go I no want divorce again let’s go…” he said.
