He decried the requirement that people share things online in order to demonstrate their actions to online strangers.
Made Kuti, an afrobeat musician, has spoken after he and his father, Femi Kuti, came under fire for reportedly leaving his troubled uncle, Seun Kuti.
Remember that Seun was brought before a Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state, on Tuesday, May 16, after a video of him punching a police officer went viral online.
After the court hearing, numerous trolls reportedly descended on Femi Kuti’s Instagram page to call him out for supposedly abandoning Seun during his difficult time.
Made posted a picture of himself and his father in court as evidence that they were present for Seun on his Instagram page in reaction to the criticism.
He decried the requirement that people share things online in order to demonstrate their actions to online strangers.
Made wrote below,
“At court yesterday.
I don’t like that we have to post things on social media to show/prove we’re doing everything we can as a family. But here you go.
Because of this many are cursing at us under my father’s last post, swearing at us for doing nothing. We must accept there’s much more to life than what we see on our phones.”
