Labour Party wins first national assembly seat

Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Hon. Ginger Onwusibe as member-elect for the House of Representatives for the Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency of Abia state, the Labour party has won its first seat in the national assembly.

In the election, Onwusibe defeated Professor Anthony Agbazuere, the former Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Ginger defeated his PDP opponent, who received a total of 13508, by garnering 20,411 valid votes. Also, he defeated Professor Agbazuere in the Isialangwa South L.G.A., his local government.
