The Jigawa State Hisbah personnel claim to have detained 47 people, including 16 girls who were arrested for immorality.

During an interview with NAN on Wednesday in Dutse, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, Commandant of the Hisbah in the state, confirmed this.

According to the Commander, a series of raids at beer parlors, brothels, and other black spots across eleven local government units in the state resulted in the arrest of roughly 16 alleged commercial sex workers.

Approximately 745 bottles of various alcoholic beverages were seized during the raid, which took place between October 13 and October 27.

According to him, the suspects were seized for alleged alcohol consumption, patronizing commercial sex workers, and other immoral conduct.

According to him, the suspects were turned over to the police for additional investigation.

He stated that alcohol drinking was still illegal in the state and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to fighting all sorts of immoral behavior.

Dahiru urged people of the state, especially adolescents, to abstain from vices and immoral behaviors that could jeopardize their future and promote social degeneration.

He further commended residents of the state for their support and cooperation to the board to enable it carry out its duties effectively.
