“It’s not worth being here” — Nigerian man returns home after spending four years in the UK

A Nigerian man has provoked huge internet outcry after declaring that he is leaving the United Kingdom and returning to Nigeria after four years abroad.

The man posted a video of his journey through the airport and onto an aircraft, stating that he had decided to leave the UK because he no longer thought living there was beneficial.

In the video, he appears with his bags at the airport before displaying an aerial view from the plane and then another footage from the terminal, indicating the conclusion of his trip in the UK.

Explaining his decision, the man wrote: “After four years decide to leave the UK it’s not worth it being here back to my country wish me luck.”

Although he did not go into depth about what drove his decision, his article soon sparked discussions about the realities of living abroad and the expectations that come with it.

His speech has also sparked debate regarding the difficulties that some migrants encounter, despite the benefits of migrating abroad.

The video has elicited a variety of emotions, with many Nigerians expressing conflicting views in the comments area.

While some praised his decision to return home and prioritise his happiness, others speculated that he may have had personal reasons for leaving, pointing out that everyone’s experiences overseas are unique.

The post has continued to circulate on social media, with many people questioning whether migrating overseas automatically assures a higher quality of life or whether success is ultimately determined by personal circumstances.
