“IShowSpeed earns $800k monthly yet…” – Daddy Freeze defends Peller against school-return critics

Media figure Daddy Freeze has responded angrily to those who have suggested that well-known streamer Peller should stop making video and go back to school.

When discussing the topic, Freeze used American YouTuber IShowSpeed as an illustration of how profitable it might be to produce digital content.

He claims that despite making $800,000 a month, the streamer believes that the sum is little given the amount of labour he does.

“IShowSpeed just complained that YouTube only pays him $800,000 a month. That’s 1.2 billion naira a month and the money is too small for the amount of work he’s putting in. And you say make Peller leave wetin he dey do, make he come join you for school?

Do you make $100,000 a year? You in Canada, America and the UK, some of you don’t even make $200,000 a year. See the kind of figures these boys are calling.”

Freeze asserts that secondary school is still the sole academic level that is required.

He clarified that formal university training is necessary for careers in fields like medicine, law, engineering, and pharmacy.

He questioned the relevance, though, for creatives who are already succeeding in the digital realm.

Some Nigerians shared Freeze’s viewpoint, but others insisted that formal education still offers structure and long-term stability that goes beyond online celebrity.

As you may remember, IShowSpeed celebrated his 21st birthday by travelling to Nigeria a few weeks ago as part of his African tour.

Peller reportedly tried to see him during the visit but was turned away by his security guards.

As many people consider how to mix education with financial success in the rapidly changing digital world of today, the discussion is still popular online.
