Instagram sheds a tear for Twitter as “RIP Twitter” trends amid mass resignations

As “RIP Twitter” rises, many Twitter users are expressing their farewell to the service, as well as to Instagram.

Many believe Twitter is in danger of dying as a result of the significant layoffs and other employees choosing to leave rather than deal with the new working conditions.

Following news that the platform is only being run by a skeleton staff after several employees left, the phrases “Twitter is going down” and “RIP Twitter” are trending.

Many fear this signifies the beginning of the end for the platform and they are already saying their goodbyes to friends they made on Twitter.

Even Instagram’s official Twitter account tweeted about the shut down.

“TBH we love Twitter,” Instagram wrote alongside a crying face emoji.
