“I’m Just Two Months Married and Already Thinking of Divorce” – Pregnant Nigerian Lady Shares Why

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after revealing that she is considering divorcing her husband just two months after their wedding.

In a video shared on social media, the woman said her decision was prompted by a disagreement over financial commitments and what she described as her husband’s unwillingness to reciprocate a gesture she made out of love and trust.

According to her, she owns a perfume business that was thriving before marriage. She explained that while they were dating and preparing for their wedding, her husband asked her to add him as the next of kin on her bank account in case anything happened to her.

She said she agreed without hesitation and personally accompanied him to the bank to complete the process.

“Because I loved this man, I didn’t think twice. The next day I took him to the bank and I added his name as next of kin in my bank account with some kind of benefit attached to it.”

She said she later asked her husband to do the same by adding her as the beneficiary and next of kin on his own bank account, but he allegedly refused.

“I told this man that I want him to add me as a beneficiary to his bank account, as his next of kin, the way I did mine.

“But this man said, I’m in a hurry. Why should I be telling him what to do?”

The woman further disclosed that she is pregnant and claimed her husband has made little effort to resolve their disagreement.

“This is the same man that knows that I’m carrying his child. He has not called me.”

She said the situation has left her questioning the marriage and wondering whether her husband only wanted children rather than a genuine relationship.

“I’m thinking of divorce. I even suggested to him that we should go our separate ways for now so that I can rethink everything. And he just said, okay, like there’s no effort in this month to make things work.

“I’m beginning to think that maybe this man married me because he wanted children. Maybe because he didn’t necessarily love me.”

She added that she is now contemplating ending the marriage, returning the bride price, and moving on with her life.

Seeking advice from the public, she asked:

“Should I give him the benefit of the doubt? Maybe he’s going to eventually come around or maybe I should just do what I’m thinking because life is kind of long to spend it with a selfish partner. Genuinely, ladies, what do you think I should do? Should I just divorce him and move ahead with my life?”
