“Call your thugs to order, @jidesanwoolu. This is not a tyranny; it is a democracy.”
Dr. Ify Rhodes-Vivour, the wife of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party candidate for governor of Lagos state, has criticized Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the current governor of the state, over a viral video showing MC Oluomo threatening voters ahead of this Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, are both supported by MC Oluomo, who is shown in the viral video directing his followers on how to conduct themselves on Saturday.
“Iya Chukwudi, if you know you no wan vote for us, siddon for your house o.” he said in part.
He also assured everyone present that they know what to do if they start to lose.
Dr. Ify took to Twitter to alert the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the public relations officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, to the speech because she didn’t like it.
Because this is a democratic government and not a dictatorship where people’s freewill can be stifled, she instructed Sanwo-Olu to call “his” thugs to order.
Ify tweeted,
“This man can confidently threaten voters because he is state backed. This isn’t the first video of him threatening voters but somehow, he still has not been arrested.
@jidesanwoolu call your thugs to order. This is a democracy not a dictatorship.
@BenHundeyin do your job!”
